The MARELITT Baltic project team welcomes you to Stralsund in Germany for a workshop on recycling of lost fishing gear. The topics will cover both end-of-life nets collected in harbours and derelict fishing gear retrieved from the sea:
1. Harbour reception facilities
Collection of end-of-life and lost fishing gear
2. Pre-processing of nets for recycling
What needs to be done to prepare nets for different recycling schemes
3. Thermal recycling methods
Hydrolysis & pyrolysis for contaminated lost fishing gears
4. Material recycling plastics from the Sea
Which materials can be used and how can consumer products be created from lost nets?
Dates: Wednesday 11th of April. Start 1 pm. – Friday 13th of April. End 11 am.
