Last stop

May the 9th the last remaining big-bags with ghost nets retrieved from Swedish waters during 2017-2018 within project MARELITT Baltic, was transported from Skillinge harbour to a plastic waste collection plant in Sotenäs municipality on the Swedish west coast.

The aim is to, through sorting and pre-processing, improve the possibilities to reuse or recycle plastics from fishing gear.

Local radio and newspaper have followed, with great interest, MARELITT Baltic during the 3 years and was on the spot also when the nets were loaded on the lorry.
